IQ-Cath
Depending on the lubricant, there are two types of catheter IQ-Cath available:
• Hydrophilic single-use catheter – for use with saline solution
• Single-use gel catheter – for use with gel as a lubricant
Packaging
The catheters come in a sterile single packaging. There are three types of packaging available:
• Functional packaging – for variable use; it can also be used as an insertion aid or as an extension for draining the urine directly into the toilet.
• Peel packaging – for easy handling. Finger holes allow you to pull open („peel“) the packaging gently and easily.
• Urine collection bag – useful solution when you are away from home and no toilet is accessible.
For use in hospitals, the catheters furnished with the functional packaging (with the exception of IQ-Cath 32) or with a urine collection bag are available with an additional wrapping.
Way of use
• Not ready for use – the catheter is prepared for use with a lubricant of the user’s choosing.
• Ready for use – the lubricant is integrated into the packaging; thus the catheter can be prepared for use in a few easy steps.
• Ready for immediate use – the catheter is already activated with the lubricant and can be used without delay.
Length of the catheter
The length specification refers to the total length of the catheter (including the funnel): 43 cm mainly for men, 33 cm mainly for boys, 17 cm mainly for women. The lengths mentioned above are not available for all catheter versions.
Funnel
The funnel is color-coded in accordance with the respective size. It can be connected to all current urine leg bags and night bags.
